Frequently Asked Questions

The OpenStack Foundation considers you a candidate for this exam if you have “at least six months OpenStack experience, and has the skills required to provide day-to-day operation and management of an OpenStack cloud.”

However, not all OpenStack clouds or admins are alike. We developed the review courses to provide you a better evaluation of your readiness and guidance on where to focus your study to prepare for the exam.

The Bootcamp is designed generally to enhance your OpenStack cloud management skills, but more specifically, to fill any gaps you need to success at the COA.

Live classes will have a production OpenStack environment to work with. We do not provide an environment for on demand versions. We are assuming that you either have access to an OpenStack environment as part of your current administrator’s role or have sufficient experience to install one (eg. via Devstack or a similar process).
Only the KTOS-300 Bootcamp includes the COA exam. You will need to purchase the exam separately for the other classes.
While the KTOS300 Bootcamp includes the cost of the COA, the other two (KTOS304 and KTOS305) do not. If you decide to take the exam, you will still need to register to take the exam and pay any associated fees.
Once you have registered, you have permanent access to all course materials. For lecture-based courses, pre-recorded lecture material will be provided as part of the on-demand course materials.

Three ways to prepare. Pick the one that works best for you. Get the OpenStack certification that matters.
